The House passed an amendment to the annual spending bill tonight that blocked the FCC's net-neutrality regulations. I think this says it all about the House's attitude:
By now, we should all realize that the GOP Leadership is always for the corporations. I'm personally not all that opposed to them killing these regulations (they weren't that strong, and might even hurt), but I'm also not for this corporatist power-grab. Look at who is supporting the Speaker's team: the telecoms. Shocking.“The message from the new House leadership is clear: Unchecked corporate power and rampant discrimination are their priorities," Craig Aaron, managing director of Free Press Action Fund, said in a statement. "The anti-Net Neutrality measure would leave Internet users without any recourse if their phone or cable company decided to block their access to Web sites or applications for any reason."
