They did it. The GOP passed their $61 billion in cuts to the 2011 budget around 4:30 am. What'd they do in it? The de-funded Health Care Reform. They de-funded PBS and NPR. They de-funded tons of departments. Oh yeah, they want to be able to de-fund the Consumer Protection Bureau. What'd it do? Nothing good. It cut the deficit for the year from $1.5 trillion to $1.4 trillion. It did nothing about the debt. It did nothing about the long-term deficits. It did cut a lot of stuff that helps people, like heating oil for poor people. Other than that? Nothing to be proud of. Nothing to fix the problems in this country. It's not even a dent in our debt.
