President Obama Speaks In State College

President Obama spoke before a packed Rec Hall crowd at Penn State about a new energy economy, and government investments in research and development. He gave recognition to the great work done at Penn State, visited with dignitaries like the Paterno family, and gave a 22 minute address to the huge crowd. He was accompanied by the Secretary of Energy, Steven Chu. The crowd inside, and the students at large, were largely positive.

Neither U.S. Senator was there, as they apparently had business in D.C. Governor Corbett did not show for today's events. Congressman Glenn Thompson, a Republican, did accompany the President into his district. Kudos to Thompson.
